THURSDAY MARCH 28th

Kristin @That Other Blog

When I first heard about this blog hop, I danced, skipped, squealed and even jumped through fire so Madame Samm would let me be the cheerleader.
I really gave her no choice!

But boy, did we get choices!
So many marvelous patterns for the making.
I loved them all but something melted in my heart when I saw Madame Samm's Wee Tots. I knew that was the on for me!

I also knew I wanted to try some new stitches. So a huge thank you to Mary Corbet for her wonderful videos.

I started with the little boy and tried my hand at the stem stitch. Hmm, I just could not get the hang of it.

Next I tried the little girl with the split stitch, nope not for me!

I ended up with my same old stitch,
I just go up and down!

I think it is named the up/down stitch!

When my stitching was completed, I got out my scrap bins.

I then cut 2 1/2 inch squares and framed them around the stitchery.

Sewed my little squares together and framed my Wee Tots.

Here they are...

My little girl on the swing!

and the trio!

This is a work in progress. I plan on making many Wee Tots and turning this into a wall-hanging.
If you would like to stitch the little girl on the swing and other Wee Tots designed by Madame Samm, just visit her

Whew, you made it to the bottom! how about a reward?
Let's have a giveaway.

For my giveaway, I would like to treat someone to all of Madame Samm's Wee Tots. Her whole collection!
What do you think?
Fun? right!

Just leave a comment and follow if you wish.
I will choose a winner Friday Night.

Thanks for your visit!

Roadblock

Did you ever hit a roadblock in your quilting?
I had the Bereinstein Bear Fabrics set.

Even cut them.......

I tried so many layouts. None! None looked right!  Spent hours, wait two days playing with them and it just was not working.
I hit a huge roadblock.
Not sure what you would do in this case but I decided it was best to put it away for awhile and come back to it when this roadblock was gone.
I know so many of us have only so much time in our day to sew and I think I was just getting frustrated at wasting time.

SO....
I took these pretties out!
Oh I cannot tell you how sorry I am that I missed this fabric when it first came out. I would have bought a bolt of each color! Oh gosh, maybe even two!  Now you cannot find it and I hoard every tiny scrap!

I cannot tell you yet what I am using them for but this project seems to be going at a smooth pace.

Happy Sewing!

A Tiny Step

Well, I did make a tiny step forward in my Berenstein Bear quilt.
Tiny!
I cut two set of blocks that I will make into large (8 inch) half square triangles.
Hopefully more cutting today.

You Know What I Say!

Love it!
Buy it!
Use it!

So next up is my fabric collection of
The Berenstein Bears!

I have decided again to do the piecing by hand. I just seem to have better luck with matching seams.
I have chosen a simple pattern. I want to make sure that we can see the wonderful pictures on the fabric.
I am thinking a large 8 X 8 pictorial square and then a large half square triangle of the coordinating fabrics .
Here are the fabrics I have chosen.

And some sweet little boy had his 4 year old birthday party.
Superhero Theme.
So Grandma made a few superhero bean bags for Bozo buckets and hot potato.

Happy sewing!
