Vintage

When my girls were little my Mother-in-Law would send them a Valentine Crad with a little cash tucked inside. Mind you we lived close but she enjoyed sending cards. My girls loved receiving those cards.
I was going through some drawers last week and found this...

It was a small box that I had saved. It had been my MIL's.
Look what was inside!

Her cards!  I just did not have the heart to part with them. She was such a kind lady.

Take a peek at these...

Remember Dennis the Menace!

Now on to some quilting news.  I finished my pink, grey and lime top.  It is now in the
WIP pile and may be moved to the UFO pile!

I am working on, hexies, college quilt, coral quilt, and Farmer's Wife Blocks.
I love to have several WIP projects going!

Enjoy your weekend and do something you love.

Little Miss Turns Two!

We had a lovely long weekend. Lot's of family and fun and food and movies!
Little Miss turned two September 1st. So it was party time.
Anytime she sees anything she thinks is pretty she says "Ooh La La" so her party was a Pink "Ooh La La" party.  My daughter had the whole house decked out in pink.  When I die that is just how I hope Heaven will look!
I decided to make her a dress up gift. I found the perfect chest and then had a ton of fun filling it will dress up items.
Of course a Pink Sleeping Beauty Dress
A Blue Cinderella Dress
A Yellow Belle Dress
short gloves with pink fluff
long white gloves
bracelets
necklaces
crowns
a pink boa
and dress up shoes!
I made a little tote for her to keep the smaller items in, so they would not get lost.

Some pink bean bags to play hot potato!

Maggie made her an Ooh La La Wall Hanging.

Pink Cupcakes with White Sprinkles was the Birthday girl's request.
What a fun time.
Even my husband dressed up in pink clothes! I will spare you all that picture. (but that may be his legs and socks in the one picture) But you know how it is, anything for those little ones.
Oh they do fill your heart.

I am off for a few days with my friend Elaine to a quilt show.
Enjoy the rest of your week.

Rosie

Last June I was on Nedra's Blog Cactus Needle Quilts, when I saw a post about the Cruiser Bike her children bought her for her birthday.  I just fell in love with it and went on a mission to find a PINK Cruiser Bike.
How much do you love Amazon?!

Well, her she is...
Rosie
Her basket has a handle and will come off it we decide to stop for a picnic.

It is a Schwinn back brakes, no speeds, just riding.

When I was a young girl. I had the same bike in metallic aqua. Friends would sit on the back. Friends would sit on the handle-bars. I could even ride no handed!

BUT,
Let me tell you, you know that old saying
"it's just like riding a bike"?

Well, not for me! It has been years! I have black and blue marks all over my legs. I did not fall but gee whiz it took a while to get the hang of it.  The first time I kept swerving to the right. I thought it was because of my poor eye site. Oh contra!  the handle-bars were not tighten! They pointed to the right!  My sweet Hubby rode his bike all the way home to get the tool to tighten them, that was my first ride.

Here I am, now able to ride this beauty and have a ton of fun!

(Psst, that is a short, not a skirt)

When my sister saw the bike she asked me if I bought it for exerciser  Come on, I said, I bought it because it was
PINK!!
Any health benefits is just serendipitous!
