My Summer Priject

I just could not help myself!

Look what I bought.

What do you mean I have a fabric store?

Is that suppose to stop me from buying fabric?

I think not!!

Once again this will all be done by hand.

I will piece it and quilt it.

It will be my take along project.

I have not done a lot of sewing the last few weeks but I did want to make a couple of pillowcases for the grand-babies.

BUT..

I totally forgot how!

In Memorium

Just a quick note.

I lost my younger brother this weekend. (age 44)

Pending autopsy results we will not know why for months.

I have so many things to do to settle his estate. I will not be blogging or blog hopping for a few months.

The things that will keep me going will be my family and loved ones.

Silly as is sounds I will keep open my store as my brother was a computer genius and he was so proud of me and how this little Soccer Mom (he would call me) could open a store and run a business for years.

This will keep my mind and hands busy.

Prayers are so welcome.

I will be back, I just need some time to process.

Mug Rugs are so much fun! You can try all new kinds of of techniques!

So, once again, I tried my hand at machine quilting.

I made this pastel mug rug. Of course, I needed a spot for the mug! And I found this pretty trim that was my Mothers, I loved using her trim. This one sits right next to me and my computer. The decision has been made to leave the machine quilting to the experts.

I am a hand quilter and will always be.

But I am at peace with that!!

Next, I wanted to try this tool,

The Little Twister

OK, this is FUN!!

I made this mug rug in my new favorite color combination,

orange and lime green.

I also did some stitching around the pinwheels with my

Size 12 Presencia Finca Thread.

I love this one! This is a tool I will definitely use again.

Lastly, this is something I showed you a few weeks ago!

And, this is what I made with these hexies.

Hexies are so relaxing. I love to work on them while watching a good movie!

I see many projects in my future with hexies.
