WOW !!

Wow!  I know it's not just me everybody is busy this time of year. Busy with gifts to make, gifts to buy, gifts to wrap, cookies to bake, a home and tree to decorate, plus the projects and sewing time we would like to fit into the day.
This time of year for all of us is about family.
We joke at our house that I could "never' unplug.  It is so true, I love blogging, pinterest, flickr, and just discovered Instagram!  During a normal month I have time for it all and I bless all those that can do all of that and still create.
 I however cannot!
So, I am going to take December off, now let's be real, I still hope to visit these sites but for now.....

( I have this Holy Card from grade school)

I wish each and everyone of you a blessed Christmas and a new year filled with love, joy, good health, and happiness.

See you in January.

Little Letters and a New Project!

I know a new project, but in my defense I am caught up on my little letters!
See!

So while I was on Pinterest I saw this...

I could not find the pattern so I am just winging it!

I cannot draw but I was happy with these little guys.

Plus some fall fabrics from my friend as I do not have these colors in my stash.

Yep, I traced and then stitched the little guys on the wrong side of the fabric.
Oh well!
I still need to spritz the embroidery to remove the blue lines.
I am now making hexies.

I might get it done for Thanksgiving, unless a new project catches my eye!

It Is A Flimsy And I Am Thrilled

My Farmer's Wife Blocks are now a flimsy. I took your advice and moved a few blocks around to hopefully make it look appealing.
I had a very hard time deciding on the color of cornerstones, so I went with nulti-colored and I am so happy with that decision. I then framed the whole quilt in Kona White and added a border of a Pam Kitty Pink Fabric.
I am going to quilt it with a soft pink in a grid pattern.

I NEVER could have done this quilt without the classes I took from Karen at Laugh Yourself Into Stitches. They were amazing and she was so helpful. The link to her classes is on my side-bar and she now has a super fun Facebook group!

Well, the worst part for me lies ahead!  Basting and marking the top.  I just want to quilt!

Here she is as a flimsy.
The next time you see her, pictures will be taken in the snow as I hand quilt.

Corner-stones
Not too bad for a semi-blind gal!

I was trying to capture the color of the border because it is such a pretty pink.

So, off to watch a scary movie as I baste. Ick!!

What a Fun Week!

I have been MIA for the last week as my baby girl had her fall break for college.  No sewing happened.
We went shopping, went out to eat, she played with her nieces and nephews and we watched the second season of "Mindy". Hubby took her back yesterday and I was very sad, but she will be home for Thanksgiving in no time.

So yesterday, I started to sew!!
My friend Elaine and I want to make the Sew Together Bag, pattern by SewDemented. The pattern can be found on Craftsy.

There is also a great quilt along tutorial from Quilt Barn, found HERE.

I decided to piece the front and back, so I put together 2 1/2 inch squares.  I had directional prints so I hope they work when I cut the pattern. I still want to quilt this piece.
Here it is so far.

I was thinking of using some of these fabrics for the pockets and lining.

This will be an ongoing project.
I do not think I can do it in a day!

I received a fun squishy in the mail. I won a giveaway over at

Donn's Lavender Nest.

If you have not been to her blog, please do yourself a favor and visit HERE.

She has beautiful fabrics in her shop and a sale going on right now too!

Look what I won!

A fat quarter bundle from Lori Holt's line Flower Patch and a  box of matching Aurifill threads called Happy Colors. Look at those colors. Yep this was one happy mail day!  Donna has a special way of sending packages. The items are first placed in a plastic bag, then wrapped in purple tissue with a purple bow, and then purple hearts are sprinkled inside the waterproof envelope.
 How sweet is this...

Thank you Donna!

Farmer's Wife Layout?

Ahh, Farming!  It has been so much fun.  I have reached the end of my farming and it is time to harvest.  I have 49 blocks so that will make a nice wall-handing or cozy lap quilt.  It was hard to take a picture of all the blocks together but I gave it the old college try!

I think this is the layout I am going to use. The more I change the blocks the more confused I get!  So please I need your eyes. Is there any block or blocks you would move?

Thanks for any advice.

If you like these fabrics I still have some sets in my stores.

Also please remember the

Going Out Of Business Sale

Have a wonderful weekend. I hope you do something you love.

These Are So Much Fun

I am so glad I decided to join Temecula Quilt Company's ABC quilt along.
The letters are so sweet.
I will say that for me the letter B, was a bear, get it, B for Bear!
Without the help of Sandie from crazy'boutquilts, my grand-babies would have thought the alphabet did not have a B in it.  She kindly emailed me step by step directions and they came out perfect!  Thank you Sandie!
