Before I talk about this quilt I would like to thank everyone for helping me with my Hexie search. You lead me to many great spots! In helping me I hope others were also helped. I now know what I am going to do with my hexie flowers.
But that will be a different post for another day. Thank you!
Now on to today.
A while ago there was a thought that there might be a Peanuts Blog Hop. Unfortunately that did not materialize. So, I decided to go ahead and use the fabrics I had be saving for the project.
I saw this pattern at a quilt shop and just fell in love with it so I quickly bought the fabrics.
This is my kind of quilt, strips! Thar's all it was, just strips!
In no time the top was done. But I needed a backing. So, what to you know but on that same day I found the Berenstain Bear Fabric.
This would combine my two loves.
I ador anything Peanuts and I love the Berenstain Bear Books. They were read over and over to my three girls and now to my grand-babies. So here she is, my reversible quilt!

I did not have the heart to cut this fabric. Even if I fussy cut some blocks I would have lost the cute print. So it became a great backing.

How cute! What a great idea too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun quilt with two classic characters for the kids. I love the bears and books posing with their side of the quilt.
ReplyDeleteAdorable! They make me happy just looking at them.
ReplyDeleteWhat a special quilt to have when you read that whole stack of books to the little ones!
ReplyDeleteNow there's a quilt topic to be enjoyed by one and all, young and old. It's great in your strip pieced design.
ReplyDeleteHi!!!!! She is wonderful and fun!!!!! Love both sides!!!! Have fun with Little T's b day!!!! Five is a fun age!!!!!
ReplyDeleteBoth sides are great!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Vroomman, what a wonderful quilt for every age! Wonderfully done!
ReplyDeleteCute Jane! It reminds me of a reversible quilt I made when my girls were young! One side was a Christmas Barn scene for kids and the other was pink and blue polka dots making the block design. I had forgotten about that quilt! Thanks for the memory! Your quilt will be loved for sure!
ReplyDeleteAdorable. Fun. LOVE both as well. I still have all of the Berenstain Bear books from my kid's childhood.
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun strip quilt! I started making strip quilts last year for babies and kids and love it. They go together so quickly and easily and you get to showcase a bunch of fabrics. What I like most is that people are actually willing to use a strip quilt. Sometimes pieced blocks can look so fancy that people are afraid to use/ruin a quilt so it stays in a closet.
ReplyDeleteI just smiled the whole way through reading this. Im a big fan of simple with a story and your quilt has that in spades :)
ReplyDeleteI would not have had the heart to cut into that Berenstain Bear fabric either! Such a cuddly child quilt...I esp. adore the last picture!!! So glad you shared...
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun quilt, made me smile right off the bat....
ReplyDeleteSew very cute. What a wonderful idea.
ReplyDeleteSo cute.... :-)
ReplyDeleteI also have some of the Peanuts fabric, saved for the blog hop, and I need to make something with it....
Quite a good idea.
I love everything about this quilt, so sweet and adorable and to top it off cute bears on the back. You are right about not cutting it, the scenery wouldn't have been the same.
ReplyDeleteHow cute is that!!! What a sweet "reading" blankie. I had no idea there are Care Bear stuffed animals! I love them!
ReplyDeleteYour reversible quilt is so much fun!!!
ReplyDeleteThe Peanuts gang have always been my favorite and your quilt is awesome!
ReplyDeleteReally adorable Jane. I bought some Peanuts fabrics for that purpose to but now need to just make what I was planning on doing then. Hopefully soon I will find the time.
