The Wedding Quilt....

The Wedding Quilt

Emily’s Wedding quilt has been given, received and already used, soooo I can now show you some more pictures.
The bride requested blue and yellow scrappy. So I had been collecting blue and yellow fabrics and her Paris fabric for a while. At first I was going to make 9 patches, but that did not seem scrappy enough to me; so I used my new favorite block the disappearing 9 patch. I think it gave her the scrappy look she wanted.
I hand quilted a simple grid, using a darker blue and liked the effect the color gave the quilt.
She said it is cozy and she is happy, what more could you ask for!

Happy Birthday!!!!

Happy Birthday Sweetie!!
29 years ago, I decided to work until a week before you were to come into the world. Someone told me first babies come late. I set my chair up in the backyard, sat down and started to enjoy the warm sunshine. I was able to enjoy ONE day of this because after a dinner of White Castle Sliders you decided to TRY to come into the world. You tried for 27 hours; I did this with no meds!! But the boy I thought I was having was a beautiful baby girl!!! She was born right on her due date!! You Dad and I were thrilled to have a little girl.
29 years later you have grown up to be a wonderful daughter, sister, wife and Mother. We are so lucky to call you OUR daughter and we love you very much.
Happy Birthday Honey! xoxoxxo

I dance for joy because it is your birthday!

You still like to listen to others in a restaurant!

PS Tomorrows Flick Pick is dedicated to you!

Oh my we were lucky enough to have another wonderful weekend, full of bridal fun!!!
My two daughters gave their sister a bridal shower on Sunday. It was held at my oldest daughter home and she and Maggie did a wonderful job.
My heart did break for Becky when she called to say the AC was not working, but despite a little heat we had a wonderful time!
I would love to share a few pictures with you of this special day.

Gift time.

She received so many wonderful gifts. People were so kind and generous to the young couple!
I am going to show you two. The gifts from her sisters included a basket full of kitchen gadgets that you might use once a year but really need.

Also two wonderful sets of spices, one for baking and one for cooking.

The theme of the shower was cooking, the girls asked everyone to bring some of their favorite recipes to put in a book they bought for Emily to help her start off her recipe collection.

The last gift the sisters gave Emily was a book filled with sister pictures, to the words of “Sisters, Sisters” (from White Christmas) it was a very touching moment for all.

Here she is with “the quilt”.

I was explaining to all the guests that some of the fabric was purchased by Emily when she was in Paris for me. I have saved it for years and so glad that I did.

Showing Randy the Paris fabric.

On to the desserts. Look at how cute these cakes and petit-fours are!!! Not only cute but YUMMY too!!

A wonderful day was had by all and I am so proud of my beautiful girls.
I love you all so very, very, much! xoxoxo

It is coming……..
