Thank you!!
We as bloggers are known for our kindness, our caring, our supporting, our praying and our thoughtfulness. Many of you know Mel from Mel’s Own Place. Many of you know the story of her wonderful Sister-in-Law, Lissa ( her story here) A young mother with 3 children who has been in the ICU Unit of the hospital for 7 months. Through prayers for her and the doctors and caretakers, Lissa is still with us. Let’s, do something wonderful for her.
Let’s make her a quilt!!
Yes, a quilt in her favorite colors.
Green, purple and cream.
This quilt will show her not only her family cares but there are so many of us here that also care.
On behalf of Mel and her family I would like to coordinate this project.
I am asking for 4-Patches. One or more; made with 5 inch squares.
Lissa colors: Purple, Green, Cream. Think; calm, serene.
Purples - Please stay away from purples with too much red
Greens - Not too much blue or yellow
Creams - On the yellow side
Donations for batting.
Also, please send one 5 inch CREAM square as a siggy block. Add your name, where you live and any words of love, faith and encouragement. She will love these to read.

ReplyDeleteSure, I'll send 4 blocks for a patch. Do you have a preference of mixing and matching or all one color 4 patches?
ReplyDeleteI'm in...I have been reading about Lissa, and it has been so heartbreaking.
ReplyDeleteIf you want five inch blocks for the four patch...the block will be 10 inch total...is that right? I will include the siggy block..same size right? This is such a great idea!

ReplyDeleteHi Jane, My name is Geri and I am Mel and Lissa's mother-in-law. I know the dreaded Mother-in-law. I am so overwhelmed reading this blog. I had no idea this was happening. What wonderful people quilters are and there are so many other wonderfully nice people that we will never meet that care so much for others. Thank you to everyone for this wonderful gift. I know she will absolutely love this. Thank you to everyone for your prayers and love.
ReplyDeleteJust a quick update on Lissa. She has been moved to a long term care facility when she is making some good progress. She has been able to eat some regular food now for a couple of weeks. She is setting in a wheel chair 2 or 3 times a day for about 1 hour each time. We are so thrilled by these small steps.
Please count me in! I will gladly make some blocks.
