I have finished hand quilting the houses but now it is time for the borders. I have no idea what color thread I should use? Should I match the colors of the fabrics or just pick one color? But what color?
These are tough decisions for me!
Thank you for any advice.

Jane, this quilt is just adorable....I love it....I am sorry, I don't have a suggestion for threads....some friend huh???
ReplyDeleteLove this! Its adorable. My thoguhts are that you can never go wrong with grey thread. It blends to anything.
ReplyDeleteYou didn't say what you used on the houses and hard to tell on the photo. I would be tempted to each color - that yellow would be hard to take other colors - or as Diane said - grey blends well with all.
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt and the beautiful colors. I am not good with matching threads, I tend to use black with most things.

I love the idea of using green then you're bring the green from the houses back out into the border and it would be the grass! It's really a sweet quilt.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was hand quilting, I used black a lot and really loved the effect. You might try that. Very cute quilt!

Variegated? Either that or match the colors. Matching wouldn't be hard to do. blessings, marlene
ReplyDeleteI'm with StichinByTheLake. A variegated thread in the colors of the quilt might look good. You can always test a color by letting the threads unspool onto the fabric to see what it might look like.

ReplyDeleteI am thinking red...red in all corners...it would tie is all up..and besides red is easier to see too...sew it would sew stand out...I LOVE this quilt...love how yours stands up sew straight...I have never had one this obedient lol
ReplyDeleteIf you can match the turquoise blue, I like it. If not I like red. I always like it to stand out...not blend in. So many different opinions. We are alot of help, aren't we? LOL
