My Baby....

I made my baby….

A sleeping bag!!!!
Now by
NO MEANS
Is this a tutorial!! I just wanted to show you my project.
First, I made my own fabric!! I took soft flannel and a cute cotton print; I machine quilted them together in a grid pattern. Now, for me this is big time, as I do not machine quilt. I just so happened to have the perfect color of pink thread! (thanks T).

Next, I lined my baby up and cut my newly made fabric to fit…

I then sewed the top to make a smooth seam, sewed the other three sides.

I now have a tube, turn her inside out

and some embellishments
and my baby is now safe and sound!!

Now, what have I read in the past few weeks, I went onto my Kindle, picked bestsellers and recognized the name Dan Brown. So, I read..
The Lost Symbol
My rating 3 out of 5 stars.
I just finished..
The Five People You Meet in Heaven
My rating 4 out of 5 stars.
Today I loaded a sample of the Oprah book club selection; I have yet to read the sample, so I am not sure what my next book will be. For sure, I am going to check out all the wonderful suggestions you have given to me.
I LOVE this baby!!!

Ok guys....

You all know how I fell about swaps!!
Well I just joined a super fun one for Christmas.
The fun part is the blocks are not due until

January 15th!!

Aunt Pitty Pat
is hosting a Christmas Themed block swap, like the Halloween one I did, only in Christmas Themes.
How fun is that!!!.
I have picked mittens as my block. I had such a ball with the Halloween Swap, there was no way I could resist a Christmas one too!
Head over,
Aunt Pitty Pat holds swaps all the time, she is a wonderful hostess!!
Hope to see you there!

A day off...

Bummer, I will have to take the day off because I am off to the eye doctor today. Someplace I am very use to going! However, it really puts me out for the day. Those pesky drops they have to put in your eyes, (so they can see through to the back of your head)! They give me such a headache! So, please do not feel bad if I do not respond to emails or read blogs, because actually I will not be able to!!
Hey, what about pink glasses?? Am I brave enough?

I will not be able to see myself, so I guess I will just stick to good old wire rims. Have a super day!!

A Story....

As many of you know, my oldest daughter (mother of Little T), is a high school teacher. She is also a sponsor of a club at school. At the school where she teaches, Addison Trail High School, there was a tragic car accident involving two of her former students. This is what she told me:

"Mike graduated from Addison Trail in '08.This past July, Mike and another Addison Trail graduate, Rocco, were in a terrible car accident. The car accident put both boys in the hospital with life threatening injuries. Rocco has since recovered and was able to go back to college this fall. Unfortunately, Mike is still in the hospital and his family's medical bills are extensive. When Mike was at Addison Trail, he was the Vice-President of the Lettermen Club (a club for Varsity athletes). In order to help Mike's family and show our support, the Lettermen Club is hosting a 5K run/walk. The proceeds from this 5K run/walk will go to his family to help them out in anyway possible. I had the privilege of having both Rocco and Mike in my freshman World History class. They are great kids that are intelligent and kind. This seems like the least that we can do in order to show our support for both boys and to show them how much we care."

My 13-year-old daughter Maggie will be participating in this event on Saturday October 31, 2009. My husband and I will of course monetarily sponsor her, but being a 13-year-old, she is hoping to raise more. If you feel like you would like to donate to this worthy cause, I would be delighted to accept your donations through my PayPal address Pnkcndy@sbcglobal.net (attn: Addison Trail) and/or checks are accepted by snail mail made out to Addison Trail High School. Thank you in advance for your kind consideration of this matter.
