Farm Girl Fridays

The first block for
Farm Girl Fridays was apron strings.
Super fun block with great instructions from Lori's book
Farm Girl Vintage.
I choose to make the 12 inch blocks. It seemed huge after making the littler blocks for my Farmer's Wife Quilt.

Well in my last post I showed you my background fabrics and fabrics I pulled from my stash.  I am still going to use the background fabrics but decided to open my Bonnie and Camille Daysail Fat Quarter Bundle. I was hoarding it, but why?!

So here is block #!

It's Gone!

I have no idea when it left, I think a few weeks ago. Maybe when we again had to stay in the house because of the snow. I really do not know. What I do know is that my mojo is gone!  I do not want to sit at my machine. My head hurts from all the beautiful fabric I have and trying to decide what I want to make. I take fabrics out, look at them and then put them back. Hexies, I love them, but what fabric, what to do with them after I make them? Blogging, what can I blog about? I am not sewing!!   So until it comes back, and I know it will, I took out my trusty knitting needles!  Started a baby afghan.

And this happened!

But now this is happening...

I do spend time on Instgram. I wish I had joined sooner. The people are so kind and so talented. I highly encourage you to join. You will be tickled pink with all the beautiful inspiration projects you will see, from some of your favorites to new people who will now be favorites.

So have a wonderful weekend and I hope to be back soon.

Ohh, there is a hashtag on IG  call #Thegreatfabricdestash   there are tons of fabrics listed. I was able to grab quite a few that I wanted at a great price.

Happy sewing !!

A Beach Quilt

A Beach Quilt, well that is what I am calling this quilt. Nope, we do not live near a beach!
This quilt will be used outside.
I see it under a tree with the grandchildren, a pile of books, and snacks.
I see it wrapped around us when we are outside watching a sporting event.
I see it on the grass to watch the 4th of July Fireworks.
I see it always in the car ready for anything!

I have been collecting fabrics for this quilt for about a year.

One yard of each of the 15 prints. You know one print had to be pink!

I cut them into 6.5 inch squares. (lazy, the width of my ruler)!

Total squares, Hmm, 450!

Yikes!!
Sooo, I am making two of these quilts.

Here is the layout for the blocks.

I have changed the layout since this picture was taken, that was a mistake, but, oh well!

I like to sew in sections, so I am making them until I think the quilts are large enough.

One for everywhere, and one for the beach?  A girl can dream, right?

Eww, there was a possum in our backyard eating the remains of our snowman!

Have a wonderful weekend. I hope you do something you love.
