My Picnic Quilt

Every once in awhile I make a quilt that I just fall in love with, this happens to be one of those quilts!
I am sure many of you are familiar with Lori Holt from
She has an amazing book called Farm Gril vintage.  This quilt was in her book and as soon as I saw it I knew I had to make it!
It is hand pieced and hand quilted.

I will leave you with this...
I have no idea what to do with Washi Tape but my college daughter used it to spruce up her dorm room.
I am not that crafty!

I hope everyone enjoys their nice long weekend.

  1. WOW! What a beauty Jane?! I love it!
Not sure what your long weekend is in celebration of, but every weekend is always a good one, in my book!

  2. Lovely - sawtooth stars in red/white/blue is perfect for a picnic quilt.

  3. Oh!...I just LOVE your newest picnic quilt! The fabrics and their prints are joyous. I am always amazed that you sew quilts by hand. I'd never have any finished quilts that way. I think all your hand stitches make your quilts that much more meaningful.

  4. Jane, this is the cutest quilt in the whole world.
Washi tape. It is good for some things
This is fancy and unique and college-y

  5. I love your quilt. All by hand! Wow. I'm totally impressed! I have way to many ideas to attempt hand piecing. I am thinking of hand quilting. But I have lots of WIP's to finish first.
Thanks for sharing your gorgeous quilt.

  6. What great colors for the picnic quilt. Hand pieced and hand quilted would mean, to me, "hang it on the wall", "just look, don't touch". lol I believe your daughter's creativity is coming from her mother. :)

  7. Hand pieced and quilted you go girl. Your quilt is beautiful. Love all the red, white and blue.

  8. Love your quilt. You are awesome w that hand stitchingπŸ’žπŸ’žπŸ’žπŸ’žπŸ’ž
