A little me time…

You know how that is~~~~ sometimes you just need a little me time……
Time to think…
Time to wonder….
Time to plan...
Time to read a good book, watch a good movie, or sew.
Not long, just an hour or so; and when you come back you are refreshed and renewed and rearing to go.

I was home alone for a few hours today, so I did not clean, or do laundry, or cook. (I know Elaine, I do not cook anyway)!!!

SOOOOO......

I decided to sew…sew something fun and new.

It has been quite a while since I have embroidered, but thanks to Kaaren, I have found out that I still can stitch.

Well, Corey at Little Miss Shabby is hosting a BOM called Birdie Stitches. It is sooo darling!!!! I am giving this month a try. I am using all fabrics from my stash. Two charm packs of “Oh, Cherry, Oh” and other scraps I have been saving.

This is the first block. The hardest part for me was tracing the design!!

Now I am off to pick floss colors and see if I really can still embroider.

Take a peek at this adorable BOM!!

  1. Of course you can still embroider Jane! It's like riding a bike, only with a needle and thread. That doesn't even make sense!

Darling little project...love the bright colors around the edge!

  8. I love that fabric grouping. So cute! I made two projects with my jelly roll of that. Plus I had leftovers to throw in the scrap bin for my stepdaughter. She used it in a string quilt.

    Have fun re-learning embroidery.

  10. I am going to teach myself to embroidery with this BOM. I love the cuteness and the simplicity of it. I'm not sure what size needle to buy with 6 strands of floss - any suggestions. Everything I have is way to small to thread 6 strands.
