Sew-Fantastic and Sew Many Ways....

Just a few “Show & Tells” today. I found a new blog I just love called “Sew Many Ways. As I was reading her blog, my eye caught a beautiful set of Americana projects. As I started to read, I found out she was giving them away!! Yes, to the first two people who asked! I said I loved them and they showed up at my home. I am the gal that likes to hand quilt and let others do the top, she is the gal that likes to do tops and not quilt. A match made in Heaven. I know exactly what I am going to do with all three pieces. The bigger one will be a perfect place-mat for my butcher block counter. The one with the star in the middle will be a pot holder I will never use. Every year on the 4th of July, we take a picture because it is my favorite Holiday; the third piece holds a 4 X 6 picture!! Therefore, that will be a wall hanging. Thank you so much Karen, I just love them and your kindness.

Next, I am not sure I should thank Terri for this; I saw on her blog "Sew Fantastic" the most beautiful fabrics from Robert Kaufman. The line is called Monaluna Birds in Spring the Metro Market Line. Sure, I had to have it and found it from the Etsy store Fabricworm. It is to die for!

Well, let me tell you Terri has a great blog, and Karen has a great blog, go stop by and visit. You will be glad you did! I sure was.

Sorry....

Just a quick note. I woke up this morning to about a dozen comments from new people, I thought it was strange as they were comments from old posts; they were not comments but links to other products!! I spent quite a bit of time removing them; because of this I am going back to word verification and comment moderation. Sorry to make you work harder to leave a comment, but that was crazy. Has this happened to anyone else?

Let's Talk Candy......

There is this wonderful on-line candy store called Candy You Ate as a Kid. They specialize in hard to find candy from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s.
YD asked if I would order some Long Boys, they are like coconut caramels; so sure why not, but if I was going to place an order I might as well get some other things.

My husband loves licorice pipes so he got a few. I love the candy Valomilk, like peanut butter cups but with a whipped marshmallow cream. MMMM!!

All the kids love flying saucers, (to me they taste like Communion wafers,) but I got a box of 240!!!

They will be so excited. So, if you have a taste or a yearning for some candy, go take a peek, it is a lot of fun!

Happy Day!!

"Just Because"

Isn’t it wonderful to have friends that send you surprises, “just because” Look at the fun treats I got from my friend Terri from Purple and Paisley. She knows that I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of our daughter’s baby, our first grand child. Look at my fun grandma things.

There is a little chick who is sitting on my printer waiting for the new arrival. A beautiful frame, hmmm whose picture should I put in that?

A tote bag Terri made for me; I have never seen my name spelled out liked that, and guess what I love it!! She used my favorite colors and let me tell you, it will get a lot of use.

She also knows that we are big Snoopy fans in our home, so the baby will now have his/her first Snoopy book, to read, suck, chew and slobber on.

Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness Terri, I will keep everyone posted. Who needs a blog! You will hear me shout from the hospital when the baby arrives!!!

THANK YOU

Our thoughts.....

I know everyone will agree that our thoughts and prayers go out to the people in Australia

A random thought......

You know just a thought…
How hard is it to be kind? Really? I am not trying to pat myself on the back, but how hard is it? I had an incident today and my comment was “no problem, we can work this out”. The response was”Oh thank you so much for understanding”
Understanding what? Things happen, we work them out and life goes on, so again I ask;
How hard is it to be kind??

Have a nice weekend!

I am not sure I ever told you.....

I also love to knit.
This is for our first Grand baby.
I made it in white so it can be used for years to come.
Whether we have a boy or girl
This weekend is the shower.
I will be back with pictures next week.
Have a safe and happy weekend.

Motto....

This is my Motto for the Week

Baby Shower Invitations.....

This Sunday is my oldest daughter’s Baby Shower. It is being given at our home by her two younger sisters. So far the only thing I can show you are the invitations the girls made. They are really getting into scrap-booking. There is even a map printed on the back to find our home. Each block on the front was stamped, cut, colored, glittered and turned into a sticker. The envelopes were lined with paper to match the address label and sent off to family. More pictures of the shower next week. This week no quilting, shower preparations and working.

PS They do look a little different with all the information visible!!!

Have a super day!!

Show and tell…

More like buy and tell…..

First I could not pass up fabric from the line Katie Jump Rope. I got his wonderful fabric from the Material Girls. I have some plans for this.

I also got the pattern for the large Christmas Mitten that was posted on Hooked on Needles. Mary Grace took the time to call Mary Maxim to see if they still had the pattern and they did, close-out for 6.99. I am very excited.

More Glenna fabric, I just love her lines. I did not want to open the fabric packs. She ships them tied in pretty ribbon. MMMM, they are wonderful, she also sent me a treat, flower pins which I needed and a magnetic pin holder which I do not have. Thanks Glenna! Get to her etsy shop before I go get more!!!

I also get some things from Nanette's Etsy Shop. Her "All Dressed Up Quilt" pattern. this pattern comes via email so you can start right away!! Also, A great pack of fabric and embellishments.

I am only going to show you a few of the fabrics, just enough to wet your whistle, you will have to go to Nanette’s etsy shop and get your own set. Believe me you will not be disappointed.

Look at the embellishments,

see my yellow flower pin, look at the small and darling buttons .

Of course, Nanette being Nanette, and being a true friend, she added some goodies for me, take a peek. She does not realize what a true gifted quilter she is. Once again, this will never touch a pot or pan, It will hang like art in my office. Thank you Nanette! xoxoxo
