A New Block...

The Quilt Around the World Swap is back in full swing.
This is a block I made for one of the members (shhh).
I will admit, this was way out of my box of comfort, but I am happy with the results.
Or am I happy with the results because she also loves pink!!!

A few things.....

I think I almost like red as much as I do pink; but that would make sense right?! I made a few red 4 patch blocks for a lovely blogger who is going through a tough time. All the blocks will be made into a quilt for her. Here are mine...

I also won a giveaway!!

Jackie over at Canton Village Quilt Works was having a wonderful giveaway and I was one of the lucky winners!!

I won the purse Pattern Sassy Connie

By Izzy & Ivy....

I told Jackie, it is funny but I have never made a purse and was so excited to win the pattern as I know them to be wonderful and easy to follow.

Thanks, Jackie

A nice surprise!!!

It is a teacher institute day today and Maggie has the day off. I slept in and work up to the smell of fresh coffee and caramel brownies.

I love that kid!!!

Last Weekend…

Last weekend, the whole family, even Little T headed to Bloomington, Illinois for a hotel night and celebration.
My husband is a dentist by trade; but just as quilting is my hobby his is girl’s softball. Our oldest daughter is 28 and he has been coaching her since first grade. Both older girls played softball in college. My husband starting coaching High School varsity softball about 15 years ago! This weekend he was honored with an award for being “Sectional Coach of the Year”! We all went to watch him receive his award. It was a fun weekend.

(Daddy and his girls)
Now our youngest will be starting High School next year and he will continue to coach until she is in college or until they pull the old man him off the field!
Now I know why we have been married for as long as we have; I do not ask about softball money and he never asks about fabric money.
Perfect!!
Hey who put a picture of our little man on this post??!!

OK.....

I live in Illinois!! I see corn fields, farms, rows of apple trees. Flat land everywhere, except for the occasional anthill!! We get tornadoes; I was raised knowing what to do, how to act, and where to get to safety. BUT, at exactly 4:00AM this morning, we awoke to a rumble and a shake, earthquake!! Yikes, 4.3 on the scale and 20 minutes from my home!! OK, not a fun feeling when the earth moves. It is getting scary in our world.
Do you think God is sending us a message, “make love not war”!!

P.S. Have a cold, not much going on around here as far as sewing. Stay safe!
