Think Christmas blog Hop~~ My Day

I have been Thinking Christmas!! Yes I have!!
How nice of  Lesley to host the Think Christmas Blog Hop.
A big thank you to Lesley and to Madame Samm.
Today is my day to play!!

I love pink and no wonder why it is just a spinoff of red, my second favorite color!
So, I pulled out my red Christmas fabrics and started to play.
I used 5 X 5 squares and added the corners (1 1/2 inches?) to make what I call an ornament block. I believe the official block is a Snowball Block. I made four little blocks and put them together to get this block...

Hmmm, I liked it; so I made another.

And another.....

Wait,  if I put them together they would be a darling table-runner!

So, I did!!

But why stop here? Let's add a backing and some batting.
Santa on the back for you Lesley!
How about gridline quilting?
Yes, that is a purple crayola washable maker!
I use them all the time and they wash right out!

I love to hand quilt and for this runner I choose red thread.

Binding!
I am so proud of myself!
This is by far the hardest part of quilting for me to achieve. I have watched so many techniques for attaching binding that I am finally starting to understand!
I love to use a stripe for binding especially one that is diagonal!

Fresh out of the dryer and ready for my table this Holiday Season!

Since it is Christmas in July  I took one of the photo's by our S'more fire pit!

Oh, yes my favorite Christmas movie. Hmm, just might have to watch that today!

Thank you Lesley, I had so much fun!
Now...
Cyber over to the other participates posting today.

July 31
Jane's Fabrics and Quilts (That's Me)!

Also the master schedule is posted on my side-bar!

Happy Early Holidays!

Jane, this runner is fantastic! I love the way you took us through the process from start to finish. And of course I also adore the back with all those Santas! Who would have thought to use a Crayola marker? Your red hand quilting is perfection and that scene with the runner surrounded by all those Christmas tales looks so inviting! Thanks for sharing this marvelous project with us!

Really washable marker? That so deserves more mention...I would have never thought. Do you know how much money is spent on marking my quilt? Do you know how hard I work to mark that sucker? Oh my poor hands! I wonder how long it can stay on and still wash off??? Hmmm worth some research. $$$$$

Thanks for sharing a lovely topper. I never would have thought to use a purple washable marker but I am going to try it. i am in the middle of putting cross hatch quilting on a border and i have been using a crease to stitch in and that is a pain. You can only crease one line at a time, very slow. Thanks for the info!

Love the runner, so cute. Looks easy to make and quick too. Thanks for sharing it. I use the Crayola washable markers all the time and love them. Hi Jane. Your table runner looks so pretty! And the binding really sets it off. Love it! Thanks for sharing about the marker. I didn't know about this. Will all of the colors work as good as the purple? I have a box that I bought for my grandson. Now they are just sitting around and I wondered what I could do with them.I think this is something that I will try next time. Thanks again.
