Tablecloth..........

It is down to work today. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I am working on a square tablecloth for my kitchen. I picked the fat quarter set Rambling Rose. It has a fresh 1940’s feel to it. There are 11 fats in the set.

I cut them into 5 ½ X 51/2 inch squares. I believe I got about 84 squares.

I then placed them at random (well…) and made 4 patches. I did this all by hand, I love to hand piece. I then kept building until it was about 36 X 36 inches. This is a perfect size for my table. I will place it on point and you will still be able to see the wood table.

I am thinking of using the green check as the tiny binding, to pull out the green in the leaves.

My goal for today…
Layer, pin, mark and hopefully start to hand quilt. I think I am going to use red thread! Have a great day, I have to get busy!!! Jane

  1. I love that, the colours are so bright. I really hope to be able to gather some fabric together soon. So far I've bought a rotary cutter and ruler. I would love to be able to make something like this
